Visits from Former Pastors

As part of the St. John’s 150th Anniversary Celebration, former associate and senior pastors were invited to visit and be recognized in worship. Several have been able to schedule a visit in the next few months. Today Associate Pastor LeAnn Stubbs visits during the 10 am worship service and will speak briefly at the beginning of the service.  Please note the schedule below. The former pastors will be recognized in the 10 am worship service, and a reception following the service will give us an opportunity to welcome them and share our appreciation of their service to St. John’s.

Can I hear a “wow?” Wow! Can I hear another “wow?” WOW!!

“Wow” is a small word to describe the incredible celebration that was All Saints’ Day and the 150th Anniversary Kick-off Brunch on November 2nd! Banners were flying and anticipation was in the air. At worship, we called out all those who were baptized as sisters and brothers in Christ the past year and all those we lovingly remember who have gone on as saints in the God’s holy kingdom. We celebrated with brass, strings, bells, organ, and voices resounding throughout the sanctuary and into the city! At the Gospel Brunch that followed we toasted the past and future, unveiled the new logo and recognized special members: centenarian and life-long member, Virginia W. Deuben, and Pastor Norm Ullestad, who was ordained at St. John’s. We all loved the North High School Gospel Choir that highlighted the brunch with their energized and inspired music! Thank you to all who made the weekend a special one in the life of St. John’s. Wow…Wow…WOW!

Look for the banners with our logo on downtown streets (Locust and 8th).  They tell everyone we have been in the city for 150 years!

To show our new logo, we have short and long sleeve tees, a Christmas ornament with the Christ window, and posters. They will be available for sale in the Fireside Lounge.
