Bonnie Flora, a former Des Moines artist now living in Nashville, Tennessee is St. John's Artist of the Month for May.  The rolling farmlands of Iowa and the high plains of South Dakota are among her favorite painting subjects.  This painting of a wind generator is one of several in a series entitled, "Sowing the Wind."  Flora says she has loved the graceful lines of the wind farms in northern Iowa since the first time she saw them.  "I was happy knowing there are new "crops" growing in Iowa---ones which provide a different "green" but are as lovely to look at in their rhythmic motion as the waving fields of corn in late summer," say Flora.  Don't miss seeing her work in Weertz Fellowship Hall.
