When is the business office open?

• Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Monday - Thursday (Memorial Day - Labor Day) 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
• Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

How do I join St. John's? 

Joining St. John’s is a simple process. New member classes are held periodically throughout the year. You need not be Lutheran. If you currently are a member of another church or denomination, it is an easy process for us to contact them and have your information forwarded to St. John’s. How do I arrange a baptism?

Baptisms are one of our favorite events at St. John’s - whether infant, older child or adult! The sacrament is held within the context of our weekend worship services. With questions or to schedule a baptism, simply contact Katie at 515-243-7691 or katiet@stjohnsdsm.org.

How do I schedule a wedding?

Wedding information is available here, which is a good place to start. Many of your questions will be asked and answered in our policies. There is an online application to be completed which will be forwarded to the senior pastor. We are usually able to respond within a few days. The church sure does have a lot of doors.  Which one should I use?

During office hours or during any of the evening activities, the South Courtyard door (commonly referred to as the 'Office Door') is open.  For evening events it is opened one-half hour before scheduled meetings and remains open for one hour. 

Can I sponsor altar flowers?

Altar Flowers are a lovely way to remember a loved one or celebrate a special occasion. The flower arrangements are in the chancel during weekend services. After services those who sponsored the flowers are welcome to take them. The cost is $60 for the two arrangements. All you need do is select your date, the colors(s) and we’ll take it from there. We also note in the weekend bulletin and announcements who donated the flowers and to whom they are dedicated.
