Tanzanian-Style Auction Follows Worship on Sunday, September 24th!
When we worship in our Companion Parish in Tanzania, the final offering of the service is an auction conducted outside in the churchyard. People bring home-made items, produce, etc. with them to worship. The items are brought forward during the earlier offerings in the sanctuary, then as the last hymn is sung, all items are taken outside to be auctioned.
On Sunday, September 24th, we will have a Tanzanian-style auction in the north parking lot after the 10 a.m. service to benefit the vulnerable children in the Children’s Club in Mramba Parish! (Rain-site is the Fireside area.) Bring something you have made or grown or a simple service you’d like to offer. Need ideas? Consider the following: baked goods of any kind; eggs; apples/pumpkins/bananas; something you have constructed, sewn or knitted; garden produce or flowers; a meal prepared and delivered; an evening of babysitting; a few hours of raking this fall, etc.
The auction will last approximately 30 minutes, lawn chairs and shade will be provided. Plan to attend and have a generously good time!
